The Singxer F-1 digital interface allows you to connect your DAC or receiver to your computer using coaxial. This will come in handy for audiophiles who want to bypass DACs with outdated USB interfaces, or those incompatible with their current setup Read More
ZenderAdd the case and it is 209.99...the Schitt Eitr may be the way to go anyway, unless you plan to make use of the i2s hdmi connection that is not incorporated in this drop. The marketing blurb is sloppy as well. This does not have 2 spdifs and will not output dsd unless you know how to do it thru hdmi or aes. The Singxer SU1 has that all done already but is twice the price.
Adding to what PTamas said, it looks like the Schiit Eitr goes up to 24/192 PCM and doesn't do DSD, whereas the Singxer F-1 XMOS XU208 (according to the description on Massdrop) accepts up to 32 bits PCM going in (stepping down to 24/192 going out) and does do 'single-rate' DSD (i.e. standard SACD quality) up to DSD256. The other thing I've noticed is Schiit says their Eitr is Windows 10 compatible whereas Singxer makes no such claim for their USB interface. Lastly, Schiit is made in the USA whereas Singxer...PRC.
velo_sometimeWindows 10 now has native USB class 2 support, being one of the latest xmos chips I highly doubt one will have compatibility issues. The drivers aren't as complex as they were when trying to work around UAC 1.0 crud in the older days of Windows. As always, buyer beware.
