Can anyone weigh in on whether the power amp is adequate to drive a pair of Klipsch kg3.5 speakers?

Is this worth getting if I already own the Jotunheim and Bifrost 2? will this be a good alternative if I get the SH-8 Amp as well? I checked retail prices and they're $220+ each. I own the Grace SDAC but plan to pair it with the THX 789 when it ships later this month.

I just purchased both the SU-8 + SH-8 Combo - what is the best way of connecting these 2? XLR to XLR or RCA? Also can someone confirm if the connection XLR connections on the back are Male - Female? Thanks

XLR should be the way to go, even if you don't have balanced headphones. You can save the RCAs to connect with other devices. About male/female....I wonder the same, since it shouldn't be male/male like the pictures but male/female. I doesn't make any sense.

I assume you are talking about the SH-8 vs the atom. The atom is VERY good for the price to the point where spending above that is a huge $/performance drop. Also, amps don't typically sound any different unless they are broken, or tubes. I'd stick with the atom for a clean signal unless you already have the SU-8 and this makes a nice stack.

i meant would i benefit in having the SMSL SU-8 VERSION 2 DAC paired with my atom over being paired with the jds ol dac my volume in low gain (i prefur) on a lot of things is low but is louder on some music tracks ,some reviewers on head-fi.org suggested that my dacs signal output isnt that good ,after read audiosciencereview forums i settled on the SMSL SU-8 VERSION 2 DAC for the higher signal out both in rca an xlr (for future upgrade)

I put one of these up against my Stello DA100 signature DAC and it did'nt sound quite as refined. The built in EQ was nice but I ended up selling the SU-8 simply because the old school stello was just better. Some of those old DACs you can get real cheap these days are just better implemented.

It's not listed and hasn't been measured, but from my very scientific experiments, it's very low. Using it with my IEMs that are hissy AF on my Pixel: Andromeda Gold is the hissiest by far. Quite noticeable on tracks that have a black background or when no music is playing. Shure 846, surprisingly, very little hiss despite it's stupid low impedance. Never noticeable while music is playing. Solaris is somewhat hissy. Not as bad as the Andro, but worse than the 846. I normally use an IEmatch with my Pixel for all 3 of these, but would only use it with the Andro Gold in this scenario. So while I can't confirm its exact OI, it's low enough to never have an issue except for the hissiest of IEMs. This was all done for SE, didn't try XLR.

"In sound quality, musicality, detail, image, qnd soundstage?" You don't get that from a DAC. As far as performance, SU-8 is the cleaner one. Go by price, functionality, looks, etc., between these two as they'll sound exactly the same.

Massdrop's new trend of marking down things i've already bought is kind of annoying. If I had known it would be thirty bucks chesper in a couple months, i would have waited.

To SH-8 owners, several website show that SH-8 has "Built-in tone control function and SDB EQ mode, easily adapt your headphones." wonder how does this function work, through remote controls?

Yes, through the menu or with the remote. The SDB functions like a built-in EQ. It's proprietary to SMSL and per them, "SDB sound which patented belongs to S.M.S.L, it improves the fidelity of sound. For the best sound effects, SDB is not only improve BASS, but also will adjust dynamic for bass and treble according to input source." Personally, I never use it and either stick with pass through or use the tone controls, which works well if you just need a bit more oomph or to shave a little hotness/edge up top. Not super precise, but works well enough if you don't have access to EQ with your particular setup. I have the su8/sh8 stack at my bedside and it works perfectly there. I used to use it at work but ended up going with a setup that had a much smaller footprint (O2+SDAC).
