It is really good for money but few things really made me to take one star off.
That small sreen is unreadable at least you're like 2 feet away from it.
Remote. It's cheap and ruins all the feeling from build quality of device. Device also cannot be opperated without it. Only to turn on/off.
All the presets like filters and sound coloration is good but I and reviewers I've seen online endup with default settings. I think resources spent on developing this features should be spent on something else like sound implementation or other.
As for sound it's good and a bit on bright side but don't worry, your bass is there. For me, output is pretty hot even on single mode and adjusing gain with dsd makes me more skeptical even I know that chip officially supports this feature but still. I want to set it on 0db and forget but don't really know how.
About my system:
Speakers - Cabasse Sloop M5
Amp - Line Magnetic 216i
Headphones - Beyerdynamic T1v2
Headphone amp - Beyerdynamic A20
Just to mention that I haven't tried balanced mode yet only single.
