I appreciate a good bottle opener, as I don't drink often enough to have learnt to use a random solid object efficiently (and the one beer I do drink more than a few times per year has a threaded top). The one here looks poorly designed, at least if it's to double as a prytool. I used to cook up ideas like this on paper. I wouldn't try to produce and market such a gadget unless it was very well thought out for actual usefulness.

Anyone notice how they are pretending to take the torx screw it off the Xbox controller with a Philips bit? If you zoom in you can see the other remaining screw is a torx. That's funny.

JacobAmosIn addition to that, we are supposed to believe that someone who would spend $70 on a screwdriver that opens bottles would skimp and buy a 3rd party controller.

Never once, in my entire life, have I needed a bottle opener. If you can't open the bottle, you probably shouldn't have the contents. The entire world is a bottle opener, and if that's puzzling, well...the bottle IS glass I guess. How many bottle openers should one EDC? 0 Zero, zilch, nada! Or, any negative value. My all time favorite screwdriver, out of 100's, is a small chunk of aluminum, 2 could fit in the space of a golfball, with a magnetic 1/4" drive slot. The designer never intended it to open bottles, but it does. In fact, every screwdriver will open a bottle. OK smarta...it would take a minute with an eyeglass jobbie... So...what IS this? Aside from a magic tube that turns $100 bills into $20 bills... SAK's get a pass, they got there first, and maybe the whole 'neutrality' thing prevents them from using a brick or a car or a tree or a Bic to open bottles. Also, bottle openers, because bartenders (Bless the bartenders!). Every other item in the world that intentionally includes a bottle opener is by default a terrible design. If you're thinking this is over the top, you haven't seen the gun shaped SCALPEL/OPENER! on Drop. And you haven't thought THIS item through... What's important here @Drop is that I'm NOT buying it. Not for free shipping, not for 145% off 'retail', no matter how many buzzword bingo marketing gibberings you attach, not for ANY reason.

SpecialEdI’m in need of an edc 1/4” bit driver but the discussion here has sort of put me off this product. Can anyone recommend a bit driver that’s better? Being compact is a bonus but usability comes first, I’ve had ones that are too small to apply a good bit of torque for tight fixings and ones that are too big to carry in a tight pocket especially with a separate bit magazine. Looking for something as compact as possible but still able to perform. Also... everyone is saying no need for a bottle opener. I agree but only if it’s taking space in a multi tool or something, I would rather something more useful fill that space BUT the size of most keychain/edc bottle openers really does not effect my carry. I carry a true utility trolley dolley on my keys and the bottle opener gets used a lot. Not to say it couldn’t be opened on a edge, with a knife or even my lighter and god forbid my teeth, it’s just more pleasurable and comfortable using a tool designed for the job. Then again I’m the sort of guy that gets pleasure from using good quality tools and the right tool for the job, the sort of guy that would (And has) spend £100s on a pen just because it’s nice to write with and look at, when the end product looks no different from a £10 pen!

George.gCountyComm has a few options that get the job done, including a nice titanium driver with a bearing swivel on the back end. My favorite driver is a very small, knurled hunk of Al with a magnet, just as simple as can be...haven't found it since. I've had my eyes on the Prestacycle Pro T-Handle Ratchet as what appears to be a fine design, though I have not personally used one.

sbbqI had to go back and look. Wow, you're right, that is pretty sad. I was distracted by the ape using the bottle opener. Still looking for pen-sized driver (with pocket clip) with self-storing, easily changed, quality bits. I tried a few, and they're all lacking for one reason or another.

It would be useful if we knew what the 9 double sided bits were in terms of screw size as well as what they're made of. Which is why they're not listed, I guess.

That's a start. What are the bit sizes? How about the hex wrench? Useful information to have in the original posting.

No. i wasn't looking for this anywhere else. Even if this product was top quality (which i am not sure at all) i wouldn't buy it because the design is flawed.
  • I have seen plastic knives better then this 440c one.
  • the screw driver is fat at the bottom and wont reach in many situations.
  • i can open a bottle with literally any hard material - useless
  • 2 usd flash light is better then this one in anyway possible.
  • crappy double head bits which wont last
  • all the above come with a case so big i can buy all the above separately in a better quality at quarter of the price and fit them all in that huge case.
Its a tool for people who will never use it or don't know how to. If that is what your'e looking for go to Aliexpress and at least don't waste so much for the same uselessness. I wont buy it and never will, i expected Drop to actually try the products they sell and wont sell such a flawed product with so much bad reviews all over across the web. I feel Drop has disappointed me personally by trying to sell this product, their greed won their idealism for providing hobby based quality products at a decent price or this was what i thought when i joined MassDrop, By dropping the mass i feel like they dropped their relationship with the community. If you want an EDC that will do anything for you, my Leatherman Surge has so much more uses, in a 25 year warranty, with a close price, that will do the job much faster and better.
