The product worked right out of the box, no fuss, simple operation, reasonable sound quality and reliable charging. I bought these wireless ear buds to listen to books and they have performed well beyond my expectations.
I think these are pretty reasonable especially with the discount
Pros
Sound quality is fairly good and I would say probably better than the more expensive competitors like Jabra
As far as sound quality technical music like Jazz and Classical sound really good on these I also enjoyed listening to many other genres with Metal being one of the few exceptions (see cons) (by far these have the most broad listening experience I have found on headphones)
They are actually pretty comfortable (especially since I have smaller ears this can be hard to find)
Use seems intuitive and I didn't need the manual to get things started
Cons
Only right ear can be solo played
if you turn on the left ear without the right ear it will never connect or even indicate pairing as an option
Quiet (they don't get quite as loud as I would like, this is a general issue I have with wireless IEMs though)
Music with lots of distortion like Metal tends to get muddy on these (songs like sword in mouth fire eyes - norma jean)
Overall I think they are good, I bought these for a friend on here and bought myself another pair. I also recommended them to a guy at work who was more interested in the wireless IEMs
So, when i first tried these guys out, i was like "Oh WOW! finally wireless audio thats not terrible! JOY!" and then like, 30 minutes later, i was like "OWW MY EARS!" I cant speak for everyone, because, ears, they have weird shapes, and maybe my ears are more weirdly shaped than others? I dont know, but i normally wear some form of ear bud through my entire work shift without any problems. For reference, I wear a "GoNovate G11" comfortably, but holy hanna, the audio quality on that thing is like, embarrassingly bad, so when I can accommodate a wire, and i need to have some clarity I go for my "1MORE Quad Driver in-Ear Earphones" which, are fantastic btw!
So, back to the TFZ B.V2. These things are so uncomfortable, I was considering just returning them, when i found a pretty acceptable use for them. Mono mode, one ear at a time. First, these things work like, REALLY well as a mono device, which is generally how I use ear buds at work anyway, so I can keep an ear open to my environment. I am the IT guy at a factory, and I need to keep an ear open for those pesky forklifts that are always trying to run me over. Wearing one at a time lets you give your sore ear a rest when you switch to the other side, and gives you virtually unlimited battery life as the off ear bud charges to full by the time you need to switch ears! I have had no issues with one ear not working vs the other. My phone, PC and laptop can track each earbud separately or together with no issues.
These things are pretty close to being a great product, the audio quality is comparable to my 1more quad driver, the bass end is a bit lacking, but clarity is pretty impressive, and I can suffer a less than perfect IEM for the convenience of going wireless. where these really shine is for audio books and podcasts, they produce normal vocalization in great detail, so you dont have to crank the volume to 11 to hear subtle enunciations. Over all, the audio is clear, crisp, but a little low at max volume, and lacking on the base end.
Another big issue with these, if you are trying to wear both of them to listen to music, or, whatever, they seem to have some issues with communicating between the 2 units, so you get annoying audio drops pretty frequently with both IEM's in. When I am at home, i use my KZ AS10, and when I am out, I use my 1More quads if I am doing both ears, because really, these are not a 2 ear affair.
The last issue, and this is fairly minor... but these are not a "hands free" headset for your phone. Unless you are yelling at a wall, nobody can hear you. That, or you take the ear bud out, talk into it, and place it back into your ear to their reply, but then you just look like a damned fool. On a side not though, this lead me to find that putting the ear bud in upside down, with the device hanging down and out, is actually pretty comfy, and stays in if you are sitting at your desk writing scripts or whatever.
Oh, and another annoying thing, the button is invisible to my fingers. I cannot find the button on the device with my finger, so pausing or answering the phone always involves mashing my finger around until i feel the magic button click.
Pros
Great audio quality when used as a mono device. perfect for audio books and podcasts (maybe the best ever for this)
battery holds out all day with the charge case flipping between left and right device. about 5 hours per ear on a single charge!
Cons
uncomfortable, painfully so
audio drops when using both devices at the same time
microphone is unusable for making and receiving phone calls.
Will often disconnect then reconnect, but mostly when idle I've found.
Sound quality is great, but the low end is lacking slightly. Battery life of the IEM is okay I guess, the case holds a good charge though.
The button on the back has a fair bit of play and is often hard to push for me.
I used them as gym/running headphone - reasonable sound. If one considers Audiotechnica M50 the lower bound of budget HiFi, these are definitely better.
The only problem was that they didn't go to sleep and stayed connected to the phone after being put to the box, and thus sometime they would be dead when I picked them up.
And after several years, they stopped keeping charge well - it's not only a couple of hours.
Otherwise I'm pretty happy.
I loved these the first month I owned them, and now they sit at the back of a drawer because the case no longer holds a charge. The earbuds cannot charge anymore either, which is odd. The pair I gifted a friend never did charge fully, and we've been unable to get them to work.
If you've ever been thinking about getting into wireless earbuds, these are a great place to start. The only thing I would count against them for is that they have issues charging correctly, the first time you put them back into their case. I'd also had ~3 times in the year I've had them that the buds became separately de-synced from one another.
