Does anybody can find the power ouput for each impedance from 16 ohms to 600 ohms ? Could not find it on technical specs list. How does anybody find it on high impedance dynamic such as 300 ohms and 600 ohms on this amp ?
Recently upgraded from a 2017 15" MBP to a 2019 16" MBP, and experienced very frequent drops in audio that require the usb cable to be unplugged and replugged back in to reset the connection.
I am now currently running the LCX amp portion of this dac/amp, via a FiiO E10K acting as my dac, using the exact same Micro USB cable that I had connected to the SDAC. I have no issues with audio at all on my MacBook using this FiiO dac. The usb cable is fine, and the amp itself still works great.
The SDAC portion however, clearly has issues with the new generation MacBook Pros (possibly other current generation Macs as well). You'll see lots of similar complaints on the SDAC discussion page with no real response from Grace Design.
I don't know who is at fault for this. Some might say it's Apple, some might say it's Grace Design. All I know is that my FiiO E10K works perfectly as a dac for my MacBook, and the SDAC doesn't. Just leaving this here in case anyone else happens to experience a similar issue.
joelfongI´m having a similar issue with the cable. I´ve already tried 2. I´m going to buy a new one if this doesnt fix the issue then it just does not work for me.
joelfongChiming in to echo the experience. SDAC works fine until I pause the music. Once paused and restarted, audio is silent until I unplug and replug USB.
I'm curious about the LCX + SDAC balanced output through the DAC. If I have the switch in the first notch where the SDAC will output though single ended, will it also output through to the balanced 4 pin XLR or do I need to connect XLR through the back? CEE_TEE mentioned in a comment that there is phase-splitters in the amp to convert the signal, but I'm not sure which setting it has to be on.
Ah, thanks for the reply. I'm using single ended with a pair of HE-5XX and they're loud enough but I heard this amp is better on balanced. If I have more power but the volume is already loud enough, does it make a difference having more power? EX. 1W vs 3W but 1W already is loud enough.
My Dac/Amp combo keeps cutting auto for me when I am using my computer. I end of having to remove the usb connection and plug it back in. Anyone know the reason it keeps cutting audio on me?
decayedCellYou'll need an hdmi audio converter for the switch, or send the TV audio back to the LCX in order to get it to work. The switch won't recognize the SDAC as a valid audio out.
for folks that have this connected to an amp -- how do you connect it? the instructions say to use a 3.5mm TRS to RCA cable...but wanted to sure if that is what i'm supposed to do. if you did, cable recommendations would be great.
ltzanyHi late reply but yes that is exactly what I did. Hopefully you got it sorted. I used a cable from Radio Shack but any 1/8in or 3.5mm stereo TRS to RCA will work.
