I did not see this drop end or that there was a limited number available in the description. The old Mass Drop site seemed better. The new look of the site is not useful and I end up missing things like this. This is why I started buying cool/neat items elsewhere.

So (mass)drop closed the writing community, and pens now go to everyday carry ? Or was this a pre-arranged bargain with the provider and you guys "had to" include this last(?) pen drop ?

I love Demonstrators and this one in particular really sits nicely, it's quite slim which is a departure from the Sailor demo I have (that I also love) at $89 it's a good deal, think I bought mine for around $110. I also found that you can soak it for about a week and all the ink stains will come off (rub it with a cotton bud every couple days). Good pen if you want something on the slimmer side and not crazy expensive.

I love demonstrator pens, this m205 is pretty nice. feels good in the hand ;-) However I got this pen for $84 shipped from EndlessPens, I wouldn't pay more than that for it. Good ink flow and piston feels solid, but it's just a demonstrator pen, nothing too special about it.

Is this not basically a TWSBI Al-Mini but for more money?

Except it doesn't have structural issues like TWSBI does.

I joined this drop several months ago @ $129.99 so the reduced $99 is a good deal. I'm a sucker for demonstrators and have been using the pen with no issues. With most inks I've tried, I haven't experienced any staining or discoloration. However, I recently saw this at Endless Pens for $72 on pre-order (sorry, no EF option). (https://endlesspens.com/collections/pre-order/products/pelikan-classic-m205-demonstrator-fountain-pen-pre-order) It retails for $80 but with the preorder code, the price is further discounted by 10% and free shipping since the order is > $50. I'm not affiliated with Endless Pens and I have never ordered from them, so I have no experience with the company's customer service but... their deal does seem better.

I almost, almost bought this pen. I am willing to put up with an M200 (not much favourite Pelikan), because it is so nice. I am not willing to pay a cent extra for a finer nib. This is Pelikan's latest practice. And they suck. Happy to buy from FPN or FPG members

I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS MODEL OF THE 205. The 205 is a great pen. The demonstrator is made of awful, awful plastic. Mine is very gently used and showing tons of scuffs and scratches just from its own cap It's also IMMENSELY prone to staining. Even pelikan 4001 blue ink seems to stain it. The M205 is a wonderful pen, the steel nib is as soft as many gold nibs. It posts crazy deep and just falls to hand brilliantly. But I badly wish I'd gotten a solid color model.

I have to agree with you. Mine didn't stain or get tons of scratches, but the pen did look A LOT LESS impressive than it's other-colored siblings. My friend took a look at this pen with the Cafe creme version of M205 side-by-side once and thought the clear version was a knockoff... The M200/205 are amazing pens, but get a different color (preferably one with a less transparent color, those ones definitely look more expensive than the transparent ones).
