Today’s ultra-slim TVs may have excellent picture quality, but they often underwhelm in the sound department. Solving that problem is the Alpha VS21 Sound Bar, an aesthetically-pleasing speaker that’s both space-efficient and big on sound Read More
Wasn't particularly impressed with them, but to be fair I have not really had time to sit down and really enjoy them. Do you have separate sub? And what size room are you listening in? I'll try and make some time to really indulge in the sound. I'm listening in an open 20ft x 30 ft living room with 20 ft ceilings so that might have an effect on the sound.
Trogdor-BurninatorI have been testing it without a sub in a basement room (12x12). Initially the back of the unit got very hit to the touch. The sound is definitely an improvement over TV speakers, but nothing special. The PSB Alpha is great sounding small speaker, but the Alpha qualities are missing in this unit.
Wow, this thing was overpriced out of the gate! The problem is that today you can get great soundbars that include a sub for $150-$200. Not sure where you can make use of something like this unless it's a small bedroom.
Two 50mm midrange drivers? This seems highly optimistic for any sort of meaningful bass.
I have a similar form factor sound base (Cambridge Audio), and it has two 6.5" drivers. Admittedly it cost a lot more than $125, but there's simply no way that $599 is a plausible realistic price for something with these specs.
NotABotIt has 2 4" woofers for bass. Those are mids at 2".
It's a 3 way, 6 speaker set up.
2 1" tweets
2 2"mids
2 4" woofers
All driven by independent amps.
I ordered one.
I am not expecting a home theatre but it's surprising the sound that can be had from small speakers today and PSB don't make garbage. For the money, I am sure I'll be happy for a small studio apartment.
