Thanks Will. I'm just trying to share that buyers shouldn't expect these work with just any speakers. The UDAC-2 will work with speakers that are powered but will not work with your average bookshelf or floor speakers. That said, its a great unit for headphones, powered speakers, or to plug into your amplifier. Folks with those type of systems shouldn't hesitate.
Hi all. Just to clarify. This unit is a DAC with a headphone amp. It does not have an amp that will power passive speakers. You will need powered (ie. active) speakers if you want to use this DAC without an amplifier. Onward!
Odelay. DACs need an amp to run speakers. Some units like the NuForce Dia have both. That said, this would work great with powered speakers and/or headphones. The Dia is just an all in one for those who prefer traditional speakers.
Will@Will I think he's saying that it isn't the type of amp that will directly power speakers. It has line-out but not speaker connectors.
No biggie, since this DAC obviously isn't designed as an old school HI-FI amp.
