Best-in-Class Sale 2022
Hi there everyone,  It’s been a wild summer—especially here at Drop. We continue to add new colorways to our DCX collection. We released Marvel artisans, new aviator cables, and a number of new Icon Collection keyboards too. Plus, Zambumon rejoined us after a few years away; and MT3 Serika R2, the second iteration of his hit set, went live earlier this summer. In the Audiophile world, we finally launched the Drop + Etymotic ERX IEM—a dream collab years in the making. But we’re not stopping there. Back-to-school season is here—and we want to score top marks. So, we’ve launched our Best-in-Class Sale to do just that. Here’s what’s to come: 1. A huge selection of products are on-sale right now. You can find them here.  2. To make the discounts even better, we’re throwing in flash sales. Between 8/15 and 8/19, we’ll be adding special deals each morning at 9 a.m. PT. These will be Deals with a capital “D”—with discounts at a minimum of 40% per product. Each sale lasts just 24 hours...

Cart Feature Request
Hello, I wanted to request a new cart feature for the website: wishlists. I know that the website already has the ability to save content that you can find later in your profile, but it only resolves to an entire set of content, not individual purchasable items. Once purchased, the item would be removed from the wishlist unless it's added back. For example, I'm building up both my SA Carbon and SA Oblivion sets. There's an absurd number of kits (awesome!), and my sets are each maybe 1/3 complete. I want to dump all the things I still need into a wishlist so I can easily pick and choose without having to remember what I already have, etc. Especially useful for aiming at free shipping. Anyway, I have lusted after this feature several times now, so I figured it was time to ask. Thank you! Morbii

Announcement - Changes to Hidden Posts
Hey everyone, we are making some changes behind the scenes that I wanted to share with you all so you aren't caught off guard if you notice anything different. As you may be aware, we have a few different Moderation tools available to us to assist with moderation on the site. In an effort to increase transparency and minimize what could be perceived as egregious moderation, we will be changing the behavior of Hidden Posts, along with some accompanying changes to moderation procedures.  Currently, a moderator can choose to hide an offending post, which effectively removes the content of the post/comment while leaving behind a message that the post was hidden. This behavior was selected in order to leave a public record of the removal. However, one concern with this methodology is that the user (and general public) has no feedback as to why the post was removed, nor any recourse to engage in a discussion regarding the decision.  Going forward, there will be two potential paths that...

Diving with an old boy - SEIKO SKX013
Yes, It is summertime. Heat waves are already here and the sea is calling. It was time for an automatic adventurer that can decently deal with sea water, yachting, snorkeling and most kinds of summer activities, so I started looking for a mid-size diver's watch. 'Out there' I found several market options and budget solutions ( from brands like Vostok, Citizen, Invicta ) but the watch that really got my attention was the Seiko SKX013. A watch that many collectors seemed to refer as a legend for it's category and I could clearly see why.. Simple design, durable manufacturing & good finishing. This watch seemed to be what I was looking for. Elegant proportions and great wearability on a very dynamic sporty look. By the moment I noticed it, everything else looked just like an alternative. Sadly the next thing I noticed was that SKX line discontinued just few years ago and Seiko's current options on automatic dive watches was not close to it's characteristics and...

My Everyday Seiko!
SEIKO 5 - SNK369K1 It's been more than two years ago when I first saw & purchased an old Seiko 5 Automatic. (see relative post: 'Discovering & Restoring a 70's Seiko 5'). Although it's bad condition, It made me appreciate the design, proportions & quality feeling that I got when I had it on wrist. So, few months ago and after some research on budget automatic watches, I decided to officially become a Seiko hooked fan and 'reset' my watch collection by choosing the Seiko SNK369K1 as my new every day & night watch! The watch comes in stainless steel strap witch is comfortable and sporty looking. My idea was to replace it with a handmade leather strap and give it a more casual & classic look. Case Size: 37 mm diameter Power Reserve : +/- 45 hrs Reliability: YES Date: YES ( day-date ) Hacking Second Mechanism: NO Wound by Crown: NO Water Proof: 30 ATM Movement: SEIKO 7S26 ( Automatic ) After some measurements, Seiko SNK appears the best accuracy...

Upgrade and Quicksave Event
Our 10-Year April Anniversary was amazing! We’d like to extend a huge thanks to everyone in the Community that joined us to celebrate. We’d also like to say it was fun while it lasted—but we can’t, because the fun is still going. We’ve got something big planned for May. The sun is out, the flowers are blooming—but for us, this month is all about gaming. Tomorrow marks the start of our Upgrade and Quicksave Event. It’s our biggest gaming event of the year, filling two full weeks with announcements, throwbacks, and more than a few sales. Here’s what’s to come: New Projects MT3 Dancer Keycap Set launches. An inversion of our retro-inspired MT3 Dasher Keycap Set, the all-new MT3 Dancer keycap set is now in stock and ready to ship. ZMKC Pocket Game V2 Artisan Keycap goes live. Paying homage to a gaming classic—the original 1989 GameBoy—the Pocket Game Artisan Keycap 2 is exclusive to Drop. New Marvel Artisans arrive. Once we get the final green light from Marvel, four new artisan...

Zelos Swordfish Bronze
One of my favorite micro brands with the bonus that they are local for me! I managed to snag this beauty second hand for just under the original retail price. The blue meteorite contrasts very nicely with the warm bronze. Strap is a NATO from nomad watch works.

DCX Live Q&A
Hey everyone, Hoffman here to answer some questions about DCX. Many of you have seen me around Drop and/or various forums and discord servers - but in case you don’t know me, I’ve been active in the community for the last 10 years or so, and have been a moderator on geekhack and reddit for a good chunk of that time. A few weeks ago, I joined Drop to run the community side of things, and now I have the chance to host a little Q&A session and talk about the new DCX keycaps that we’re launching today.  I do have one of these sets in front of me right now, and would be happy to take any photos y’all might want to see, answer any questions, etc - pretty much anything related to DCX. Let me know what you want to know!  I will be back at 1pm PDT (3pm CDT) to answer any questions for a few hours, and will continue to monitor the thread going forward if you miss that specific window. :)

The MT2 Name
We came up with the name of the MT2 profile for many well-intentioned reasons: continuity with Drop's other in-house mold, identical material properties and manufacturing processes to MT3, clarity to help users understand the position of the two products (MT2 is lower profile than MT3). The fact that the name of the designer of the new profile happens to also feature M and T was a coincidental extra “fit” in our eyes. It is our goal for community members to gain familiarity and trust for products based on the brands associated with them. It is also our goal to nurture, recognize, and respect the contributions of the designers we work with. It was not our intent to undo the good work Matt3o and our team have done on MT3 in introducing a sibling product, but it’s clear he and others saw it that way. On the contrary, MT3 and our past designs with Matt3o are successes that we want to continue and would therefore not intentionally undermine. Unfortunately we overlooked the step of...

Even with the current Moonswatch craze, I would still rather sport my Certina DS-2 Omega homage! Plus it's still a part of the swatch group!
Drop's 10-Year April Anniversary
The company formerly (and fondly) known as Massdrop was founded in 2012. That means it’s been 10 years (and one name change) since we started running group buys for a wide range of products, including mechanical keyboards, headphones, car parts, and sewing machines—just to name a few. This journey has taken us on many twists and turns, and we're so thankful that you have supported us as we've grown and evolved. To celebrate this milestone, we’re setting up the entire month to feature a ton of exciting new projects and deals. Check out what we have in store for our 10-Year April Anniversary: New Projects 1. We’re now shipping our Holy Panda X Switches! Since we've sold out both preorder batches, and our third shipment is delayed by COVID, we'll be extending the prelaunch discount price until these are readily available and sold in stock (likely some time in May). 2. We’re all set—to run a new keycap set. Here’s the setup. What do you get when you cross a classic colorway, an...
