Designed for entry-level listeners and enthusiasts in search of a refined feature set, the THX AAA ONE is a slimmed-down version of our beloved THX 789 linear amp. It does away with the 789’s balanced inputs and outputs in favor of a single-ended output and an all-new preamp output, which is perfect for connecting to powered speakers. Of course, it also features THX’s legendary AAA technology to deliver detailed amplification with next to no distortion, as well as three gain stages to drive headphones at all impedance levels. With everything you need and nothing more, you could say it’s the ONE.
THX AAA Technology, Plus a New Preamp Output
Inside the Drop + THX AAA ONE Linear Amplifier, distortion is all but defeated. Harmonic distortion, crossover distortion, intermodulation—these unwanted symptoms of electric current are reduced to nearly imperceptible levels through THX’s patented AAA technology. With distortion up to 40 decibels quieter than competing Class-A amplifiers, the Drop + THX AAA ONE transmits audio in its purest possible form to any pair of headphones. Select from three carefully calibrated gain stages to drive sensitive IEMs, high-impedance dynamic headphones, and everything in between. Switch to an all-new preamp output using the dedicated “Pre” button, and pair the Drop + THX AAA ONE with powered speakers or a power amp for crystal-clear preamplification. Finished in a sleek and strong aluminum housing, it’s sure to look (and sound) great wherever you set it.
