I’m only going to talk about the unboxing and first impressions of this amp as I have not listened to it as of yet.
I will not be doing a listening review of this amp 2 other people bought one and maybe they’ll do it.
‘The amp showed up double boxed. Drop added green bubble wrap around the Violectric original packaging. Drop could have done a better job I know I would have. Violectric on the other hand did an excellent job of protecting the amp on their part. I will note here that both boxes showed up unblemished.
It’s going to take you a minute to get to the amp inside Violectric’s box so just be patient because this amp weighs a ton. I think you could easily drop it because of its size and weight.
The size is much larger than I anticipated and the weight is much heftier than the pictures convey.
‘This amp is built like a tank and I think you should notice the quality immediately, at least I did. Solid construction and well laid out.
The instruction books were quite informative and get to the point (there’s two of them). For those of you who own or have owned Violectric equipment nothing has changed. For me I feel Fried covers all his bases and leaves nothing out in writing his manuals as he explains why the amp works the way it does. He also explains what you can and shouldn’t do. I did read both manuals completely. One is a quick start and the other explores all there is.
I’ll be hooking this amp up eventually and deciding on what to do with the 789 which I purchased with the 3 year warranty, I need to ask Drop if that’s transferable.
Can someone start a poll for the Doge 10 DAC all options?
Can someone start a poll for an electrostatic amp?
ParkflyersRCThanks I have not been able to bring myself to sit under headphones yet. So I still haven’t listened past the first time. Thank you so much for this.
