Have been lurking around and finally made my first purchase on the Redsuns + Drop Red Samurai TKL. The set is beautiful but there was 1 keycap that came disfigured/damaged. That kinda killed my excitement. Put in a ticket for support but have not heard back from them yet. Hope they make this right..
I was trying to flash my Drop Carina in an attempt to make it have the same lighting as this video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/0iIzTWxev0g
However, when I tried to flash the board, I used the wrong file by mistake, and that file was for the Drop Shift. A singular orange LED lit up at the front of the board and it became unresponsive. When I plug it into my laptop, it makes a noise to show that the device recognises it, but it doesn't register me pressing the keys, and no lights turn on. Device manager shows three keyboards when my mouse is plugged in, but two when the mouse isn't plugged in (Excluding the laptop's keyboard). I have tried to flash the board again using the reset button on the back of the board, but I'm not sure it's working as there is a layer of foam in the way of the PCB and the case. Is there any way to do some sort of factory reset on this keyboard to reset the firmware?
Many thanks.
P.S I am in the UK
Hello,
after long waiting i got this new pcb and went to configure it. So after doing so running mdloader it goes 60sec countdown and when i press FN+B just types .....bbbbb.bbb.b. etc. So it looks like on my pcb doesnt have the b button configured (becuase it types b instead dfu) to go to dfu mode hence i cant flash the pcb. Any other way to flash the board please? It should be on b by default as it seems...so i dont know what is the problem here.
thanks
Hello! I'm looking to find a set of MT3 alpha keycaps that match the color of the white "alpha" keys in the LotR Elvish MT3 set. The Mito MT3 Godspeed R2 set looks close, but it's hard to tell from the photos. Has anyone replaced the alpha keys on their Elvish set with roman alphabet keycaps? Thanks in advance!
Is anyone's DROP High-Profile CTRL keyboard randomly disconnecting?
With LEDs on, this keyboard will randomly disconnect in the middle of typing or during a game. I've tried:
Using the cable they gave me(always have been)
Plugging it into different USB ports on my computer
Turning off the LEDs (that's how I diagnosed it, per support as well)
Even returned it in exchange for another, and it's still happening.
The top three bullets are what support told me to test, and I did just that. It's no issue if the LEDs are off, but I want them on. Can anyone else with the new CTRL High-profile keyboards fill in on whether or not they are experiencing this? It's happening much more frequently. I'm not sure if it's because of my motherboard being slightly older and not supply enough power, or a keyboard issue.
How long does it take for Drop orders to start shipping?(regular in stock item)
Based in EU west. Not talking about the time it takes to arrive once it has been sent off, but the time it takes between payment and shipping.
I’ve ordered a set of Mt3 keycaps and I’ve heard a lot of horror stories about drop processing times.
I want to give my wife a Winnie the Pooh keyboard using Drop's base and novelties kits.
I don't know what keyboard to get with it. I want silent keys and smooth, linear action. She is accustomed to Mac keyboards.
Finally, she uses the number pad so I either need a full-sized keyboard (preferred) or I could get a separate keypad. I've looked at the Drop Shift V2, but there seems to be a bit of discontent with this board, so perhaps there is something better.
So, would anyone care to share a recommended keyboard, switches, whatever I need to make this work?
Thanks in advance.
Where can I get the rubber feet of Drop Ctrl keyboard (on the back)?
Sorry, not sure if that's the right name for the part. It bothers me a long time, just want to see how I can replace the rubber feet on the back of the Drop Ctrl keyboard when now all of them are dropped ...
Thanks so much.
Where to find Fn key on Drop CTRL V2 Mechanical Keyboard PCBA
This is probably a really basic question and I thank you in advance for an answer. I just got the CTRL V2 and used the configurator to make a few changes. To flash the firmware I need to use the Fn key, which is not showing up anywhere on the key mapping in the configurator. In fact, the Fn key is repeatedly referenced in the "Basic" functions of the configurator, but I have no idea where it is. I have gone round and round with DROP Support and they keep pointing me to the configurator, which is no help; it does not list the location of the Fn key. Again, thanks for your help!
Massdrop Ctrl rgb setting doesn't save after computer is turned off.
Whenever I turn my computer on from being shut off, the rgb setting always resets. It only saves the rgb setting if the computer is restarted. Would anyone know the solution to this problem?
Thank you.
Drop CTRL High profile acrylic diffuser replacement
Does anyone able to replace the current acrylic diffuser to a brass or any kind of plate? If yes, can I know where you bought it and some pictures if you may is very much appreciated :)
If none, do DROP even consider creating one? I'll buy in a heartbeat.
Thanks!
Has Drop ever considered offering a replacement for the acrylic diffuser on the ALT and CTRL?
I’d rather have a brass plate in that space to add weight and (in my opinion) improve the aesthetics.
When I open the DROP app with my CTRL V2, I see that Layer 0 has MO(1) mapped to the key two right of the spacebar amd Application mapped to the key three right of the spacebar. I want to put MO(1) three right of the spacebar, but I could not find MO(1) in the list of possibilities after successfully unlocking my keyboard. Any hints for me? Does MO(1) have a different name? By the way, MO(1) acts just like the FN key, meaning that I hold it down and press Q, W, etc. to change the RGB lighting.
I just ordered all of the parts for my dream keyboard, (Spr67 blue and DCX Sapphire) except for the switches. I’ve built a few other keyboards before and enjoy thoccy keyboards. However, I love the little bump you get when clicking tactile switches. But I also love deep, thoccy switches. All I’m curious about is a good, thoccy tactile for a reasonable price (below $45 for 70/72). I also would prefer it either pre-lubed or just smooth in general. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Hey guys, I am interested to buy this barebone, looks very nice, but I have some questions. The firts is about the foam in the barebone, is necessary to buy the kit I found in accesories section? Sounds a bit strange but I think I have read that is necessary.
And the second is about stabs, the same, is it necessary to buy separatly or the barebones includes ones?
Other thing, I was looking for videos of this barebone to listen the sound experience typing with it, but I couldn't find nothing. Is it good experience?
Thanks in advanced
I have been exploring the world of split keyboards but have been having trouble getting used to the alternate designs. I have been using a Drop ALT at home and work for four years, and I love them. I wondered if Drop had ever thought of coming out with a split version of the ALT (or other designs). I would love to learn more. Thank you.
Drop SENSE75 keys occasionally not working when Mac wakes from sleep.
I have an issue with my Drop SENSE75 keys occasionally not working when waking my new Mac Studio from sleep. I never had this problem with my previous iMac. It's a simple fix to unplug and plug in the keyboard to get it working, but I can't figure out why it's happening. It's not a consistent problem—it happens about 1 in every 8-10. Mac Studio is Apple M2 Max running Sonoma 14.5. The keyboard is running the firmware it shipped with.
Drop CTRL double "t" char and turning off after 3 yrs
Hi all,
I bought a Drop CTRL in 2021. I liked that it was a well-rounded mechanical keyboard that "just worked" without having to do a bunch of customization (I just want a bulletproof keyboard that feels and looks good). It has been a fantastic keyboard, I especially like how heavy it is and the key weight is perfect for me.
However, in the last 8mo it has started double inputting the "t" key and now it randomly will stop inputting anything (but the lights stay on) or it turns off completely (no lights, no input). I normally plug it into a powered hub but I tried plugging it directly into my computer to see if the problem persists and it does.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this or where to start diagnosing?
I type all day long so I don't have a lot of ability for down time.
I recently decided to try adding screw-in stabs to my Shift V2. As this was my first time adding screw-ins, it took me about 45 minutes to get them on the PCB. The next hour was then spent unsuccessfully trying to get the PCB to sit nicely in the top of the case. I started unscrewing some of the stabs, trying to figure out which one was the problem. I did also manage to figure out that it's best practice to have the screws a little loose when you go to pop the PCB in the case. But that only worked for four of the five stabs. The fifth stab, the Num Enter stab, would sit properly. Once I got it narrowed down to that stab, I started looking at the case itself. That's when I found the problem. There is a little post that interferes with the screw-in stab's screw (pictures included; you can see the damage from the screw being mashed into the post). I assume this is a carryover from the V1 case, for which the included PCB did not have holes for board mounted stabs.
So now the questions:...
