Does what it's supposed to. Gives noticeably more body/weight/volume to the music with my Klipsch HP-3's and Meze Empyreans vs the Apple dongle (though of course it's not up to what I get from my Astell & Kern Kann DAP). I often use it as a line out to connect to my stereo systems at home and at work and gets a clean clear signal. No pops, clicks etc. Stays connected. Stays cool. Still looks like new. See No Theme Reviews youtube review.
Has since been replaced with the new version (ITM01) which I also have and it performs the same as this one, though it does have issues with staying connected and corresponding pop/click at times.
Took way too long to receive so much disappointment
I bought this product mid pandemic, drop did say it was going to take 2 months to deliver… it took nearly 4 months. When I got it, it worked okay. The zerda didn’t add anything to my listening. When using a new phone with no headphone jack, the sound was so soft I could barely hear it let alone enjoy it. Worst of all if you move it slightly or take out the jack on accident you get really loud static right in your ears and it’s regally jarring. Unusable.
Beyond great specs for the price, solid build. You can't beat it. Bought the Type-C version.
I've a/b between this and the odac rev b., Which this easily out performs.
Small note: if you're leaving it in your car you might want to hide it in your glove/console box cause it'll become a hot potato.
audio stops playing when dac is moved. It noticeable reduces low end on all IEMs I tried. However, it can drive higher impedance IEMs to a louder level compared to apple lightning dac.
Note: This is coming from the perspective of an iOS user, your better options are definitely higher if you're on Android.
I got this thinking I'll finally be able to get better output from the phone, but it seemed not very different from the output coming out of the much smaller DDHifi TC35i and that is a fraction of the Zerda's price. The Zerda is not at all terrible though, if you're looking for something with an optical connection this is probably your best bet. If optical isn't your thing, with the money you're better off getting a FiiO BTR5.
Whenever cable is getting bent, static noise is coming and 4/5 times it stops working unless re plugged. not sure if DOA or design, but questionable quality of unit i got. USB C is extra tight, will eventually destroy your device
Apparently same issue as Zeos review, i just watched it... Da Fonk?
