  • FLAT SEAT! I normally have issues sitting cross-legged in gaming/racing chairs due to the sides' curved bucket seat "wings". This one is flat and wide! Extremely cushy/bouncy seat. Supportive and firm, but still a joy to sit in after my Arozzi's firmer/harder pad.
  • Sturdy. Much sturdier than my Arozzi Verona was, on par with my Arozzi Toretta. Zero wobble on assembly. Any handle/knob on it is sturdier than any brand of gaming seat I've sat in so far.
  • Easier to assemble than any of the Arozzi's so far. Most of the screws are already pre-fitted and just need a tightening during assembly. They were thoughtful enough to have all the screws inserted into the holes they're intended for, so no "consult the manual" process while fishing the right ones out of a screw bag. I think there were about 10 screws total to mess with.
  • Great support for a 6'/200# body. I have very long legs and if I didn't sit cross-legged as much as I do, I would likely be a bit more concerned about the length of the seat pad while using the lumbar pillow. If you can forego the lumbar, it's fine, if not, consider a longer seat base.
  • Ergo/shape is good for me. The piston's upper height limits are great for me and my gaming desk, but might be a little awkward for the shortest height if you're using a low desk/setup.
  • All the other features (4D armrests, adjustable pillows, etc.) are all as nice as you'd expect. Nothing super wild. Arm rest height adjustment has a good range to accommodate any needed height.
  • The surface is nice, but still intended to use a slip cover on mine. I live in a very cold house and while it's not as bad as my other chairs' original pleather in the winter, stock surface is not exactly the warmest either.

I've had the chair for around a month now and for the most part I'm happy with it. It arrived with the plastic cover around where the rocker lever is broken (the screw was probably screwed on too tight or something because it went straight through. I was able to carefully remove the screw, put a washer on and makeshift hold it together. It doesn't look as nice, but at least it stays in place. Ignoring that, here's some basic pro/con with the chair: Pros:
  • Feels very sturdy, I don't think I'll be able to break it easily.
  • Once properly adjusted can be very comfortable.
  • A great price for all the features and overall build quality.
  • Has the racing style chair appearance without most of the things (i.e. bucket seat) that make racing chairs awful.
  • Love the perforated material, definitely solves the problem of a leather chair getting to hot or sweaty while simultaneously looking and feeling nice and comfortable.
Cons:
  • The armrests are technically adjustable, but there's not enough control. They're also a bit maligned, in that one of them seems to be pointed a few degrees off to the side whereas the other one is on straight. Always bothers me when I look because I notice those things. The adjustments lets you move up and down easily, but the other adjustments are rough and rotating them left and right makes me feel like I'm breaking the arm rest every time. There are only 3 adjustable left/right rotation positions, so that's a bit frustrating (either straight, left, or right).
  • tl;dr - The armrests are low quality and should be improved.
  • The two pillows seem to move a lot. It's hard to get them to stay in place and adjust how you like. The lumbar pillow might be a bit too big and the headrest pillow is probably too small. They look nice though, and after some adjustment I'm able to get really comfortable. I just don't like adjusting every time.
  • The seat is a little too firm, could use a little softer foam inside or something.
Overall: I'm satisfied with the chair. Is it perfect? No, but most things aren't, and I'm pretty satisfied with it. Also not sure what people are talking about with not being able to reach the floor, but since it's such a common issue and more adjustment capability is always appreciated, I'd recommend they increase the amount you can adjust up and down.

Overall a wonderful chair, there isn't much else to say. It's very supportive, and seems to be durable. The only cons are very minor compared to the pros, but are worth noting considering the price. I wish the arm rests were able to fold out of the way for musicians who might have to deal with a keyboard tray or guitar. The chair can be tipped over if you lean too far forward, but you can recline all the way back without worrying about losing balance. It would be nice if there wasn't a gap where you could rest your head without the pillow. It isn't really made to be a lounge chair even though there's a recline feature, which is actually kind of nice since it keeps me more productive. I would have liked to keep the logos only on the side covers rather than the upholstery, but at least they are discrete, high quality, and sophisticated. The shipping was super quick, I was definitely surprised at how fast it arrived. I've read discussions asking about the tilt lock feature. I'm pretty sure mine was advertised without tilt lock, but I still received the tilt lock version. You just have to pull out or push in the lever that adjusts the height. In my opinion the tilt mechanism seems slightly stiff even on the most flexible setting. Maybe over time the spring will lighten up. It's also quite tall; more range in height adjustment would be a good improvement. I would also agree with the discussions saying the plastic covers should be more durable, however mine are good so far, nothing has broken. At least they are replaceable. Anyways, the AKRacing Aero Gaming Chair certainly seems to be worth the price, especially since Massdrop has helped with this collaboration.

Gotcha. Good deal, thank you for the quick response. The reason I'm asking is I work 3rd shift and will be sleeping when the tracking number reported its approx. delivery and I wanted to be sure they would leave it. I'd hate for it to be re-delivered for another day that I'll just be sleeping still. Thank you so much again and thank you for the rest of your review as well. Looking forward to this chair!

The Good: 1) Shipping was faster than expected. 2) Install was fairly quick. Parts fit very well, instructions were great and assembly was quite easy. 3) The chair looks very classy - even got that new car smell! 4) Armrest adjustments are really nice. 5) The back rest looks and feels great, and I really like both the neck and lumbar pillows. 6) Customer support was AMAZING when I called during the "tilt" confusion/refund issues. Really impressed and excited to have a great company backing up the product.
The Disappointing: 1) The seat design might look stunning - BUT the use of the thick/raised seems, especially on the front of the cushion, was a huge oversight in my opinion. I have fairly thick jeans on, and I can feel the thick/raised seems it on the back of my legs/knees. Looking at the V2, I think the smooth edge would be MUCH more comfortable. I am guessing that wearing these with shorts could be uncomfortable for long sessions. Even sitting here typing this, I am feeling quite frustrated with the rubbing behind my knees. 2) The seat is extremely flat, like Iowa flat - without any contour, and it lacks the nice side padding found on the V2 and other versions. So it doesn't hug the sides of your legs/backside like some of the other AKRacing chairs available. I underestimated the difference, and while I am sure it is a personal preference, I do wish I had gone with another version. I think the traditional "bucket" design is much more comfortable. *Hoping it will break in over time and become more comfortable. 3) Due to the above, the comfort of the seat leaves much to be desired. It is firm and will likely break in, maybe my expectations were too high. Definitely not the comfort I was anticipating.
Other Things to Note: 1) Box was missing the head rest fastener - not a huge problem, stays up alright without it. Going to call customer care tomorrow, I have no doubt they will take care of it. 2) The new "Perforated Alcantara" is a dog hair magnet - just something to note. 3) It is definitely more of an office chair than a gaming chair. I was hoping for the comfort of a gaming chair, with the class of an office chair - unfortunately this did not meet those expectations.
Overall: I like it... but I must admit I am disappointed due to the seat's raised seems and lack of contour. Even my $40 OfficeDepot special had a nicely contoured seat. I will be recommending friends go get the V2, rather than the Aero, at the our upcoming LAN. Look: 8.5/10 Comfort: 5/10
*** Tipping Hazard* WARNING - Due to the design of the chair, if you do not sit all the way back, it can and WILL - TIP/FLIP forward. *I was holding my 3 month old, tried to sit down, without going all the way back... and the chair flew forward. Came inches from my daughter hitting her head on my glass office desk. Quite disappointed in the design of the seat cushion too. The combination of the two materials was not done intelligently. The leather is much softer, and the new material is quite firm. Adding the leather infront means you are always leaning/sliding forward. HAZARD! High quality office chairs do NOT tip like this. Really disappointed.
* Really do not think they put much thought into how much the new material was going to affect the seat. No added contour to help cradle - like a bucket seat, and due to the soft leather upfront, I feel like I am almost sliding/leaning forward off the chair. The difference in softness, between the new material and leather could have been sewn together in a functional and very comfortable manner. Instead I think they just made a random design and ran with it. Hoping it breaks in much nicer, really feeling more and more disappointed each day. Already leaning towards trying to sell it.
6/21/18 UPDATE: I am very disappointed I decided to purchase this chair, as the seat is still extremely uncomfortable. I prefer sitting in my $40 Office Chair. I REALLY WANTED to like this chair, but I would get rid of it in a hear beat if I could. Again, the seat design was not done with function in mind. The front is softer than the back, so it is not only uncomfortable, but you slide forward. And if you try to sit on the front of the chair - IT TIPS OVER! ...
Unless you are only buying this to have something "gamish" at work, while still having it kind of look like and office chair - my advice? Buy another chair.

Ryanmccormick21Really disappointing, waited so long to invest in one, and now I am sitting on a chair that was designed haphazardly.

I will start by saying that the actual chair is comfortable for being a gaming chair; the materials are nice and seem a step above most chairs that are similar. However, for the price, I do not feel like I can recommend it. The biggest issue for me are the armrests; they are just a little too low at the highest setting to be perfectly comfortable for me. Settling, as the chair was already assembled and that's a subjective issue, I still found the chair pretty comfortable. After about a month or so of use, the top, pad portion of the right armrest completely popped off! I was able to get it back in the hole and it seemed mostly okay, but it was never really sturdy again. This thing had and still has been severely babied; I really only use it maybe 8-10 hours a week, so it was really disappointing when the arm popped off. As far as I can tell, the issue is that they only use about 2-4 threads on the bolt that attaches to the arm rest support. Additionally, the hole for the bolt is completely plastic, so once it pops out, it's stripped for good. It usually pops off a couple of times a week, and is getting harder to get back on. I expect the hole for the bolt is getting full of plastic thread pieces as the bolt doesn't want to sit flush any longer. A few nights ago, less than a year in, the left hand side popped off in the same fashion. So now I've got a mostly decent chair with two loose armrests that will pop off with the slightest amount of unbalanced pressure. I assume that having them replaced will just lead to the same issue down the road as they will still be the same poorly designed armrests. A couple of other minor issues include the wheels not feeling very smooth and needing to be realigned before you can roll back. I quickly replaced those with much nicer ones. Also, as mentioned in another review, the piston cover is completely split down the middle and will likely fall off soon. For the price, I would expect to get a chair that is comfortable, using materials a step above others, that does not have such glaring issues.

Shipping: 0/5 - Whoever you are using to ship this, they need to stop being used. The package came in torn and dented in several places. This translated to damages to the actual product - the backrest has a permanent indentation and the backrest adjustment mechanism's cover is cracked quite badly. Absolutely unacceptable. The chair itself: 5/5 - It's a bit firm, just the way I like it, and quite easy to put together by yourself. Exactly as indicated and I love it. No problems with the chair itself, just its condition upon arrival. Overall: I really hope I can get plastic parts by warranty. I'm not going to deal with returning this, but I can replace plastic parts by myself.

Raku_TurtAs an add-on to anyone looking to buy this, I'm 6' 0.5" and 218 pounds. It supports me pretty well. If you're quite bony on the backside or carry a lot of excess fat, no judgement (everyone's got their own preferences) but this chair is definitely going to feel weird to you. There isn't much room horizontally, even after adjusting your armrests to be as far out as possible. The cushion is firm and will take a lot of breaking in. Get ready for a numb backside if you haven't got much meat on you to cushion your rear, it'll be like that for a month or two at least, it seems.

This chair looks nice, but I would not recommend it. The seat has no contouring, it is completely flat. Crums, lint, dust, etc. get stuck in the perforation of the Alcantara. I got in on the first drop and waited to get one that was actually as advertised, including the tilt and not just the recline. Apparently that was a waste since I struggle to force it to recline and if I lock it just pops out of the lock moments later. Oh, and the elastic straps that hold the cushion and pillow are starting to sag and look bad.

Everytime i go 180 degrees back I mostly fall I recommend that you have somewhere to put ur feet other than the floor because this chair is meant for racing. I was given the wrong instructions sheet. The bottom part where the pump connects is to the wheely thing is weird idk if I did it right. The chair looks hawt tho The pillow keeps moving but I'll get used to it

Back comfort 9/10 Butt comfort 2/10... I can't sit in this chair for more than 2 hours without my ass starting to get sore. Sits pretty high (keep in mind if you have a low clearance on your desk/work-space.
Assembly wasn't miserable Armrests move around a bit (adjustable on both axis), wish they were able to lock horizontally as well as vertically. It doesn't scoot on carpet real well since it's real heavy (so get a plastic pad/use on hard floor). it seems to be fairly well built, it's solid.
Almost gave it 4 stars... but i'd be lying to myself if I claimed it deserved 4. I almost did give it that much because I was embarrassed I spent 300 bucks on a 3 star chair that I can't sit in this char for more than 3-4 hours without taking a break. :-/ I gave it a few months trying to trick myself into thinking it was a great chair... it's just "fine"
