Every Freelancer on the RW web site has "Swiss Made" at the bottom of the face. Most photos on Drop do not, although the oblique shot does. What gives?
Well that explains it, I guess that's what they call Market Segmentation--evidently RW doesn't want us all walking around with the same color sweeping second hands?
Now you've got me curious again about hooking up with a VPN--apparently there are whole new worlds out there to be discovered and explored? Wonder if I'll find hotter Tinder babes using more exotic IP locations?
Hi, ChandanBhat, good comment; we get this all the time in Australia with many different products, especially with motor vehicles, although a lot of that is to do with our over the top Safety Standards. But it does filter through to many other products especially electrical goods, for example Toshiba and Sharp have small selection compared to some countries. I do suspect that we do often get products near the end of their run, so part of what others are saying about old models is true. So it's no surprise that there is different availability stateside; we do seem however get a lot of specs. similar to Singapore; probably due to proximity catch.
43mm is too big. A nice chrono would be 39mm or 40mm, like the classic Speedmaster (can you even fit a Valjoux 7750 within a 39mm case?).
Nice design, but I'm sticking to my four watches now, and have to fight the temptation (no, not the singers, the feeling).
justonemorewatchI believe drop is selling the older version, the newer version(the picture drop has put up) does not have "SWISS MADE" and uses the RW5200.
Are those screwdown pushers? that's pretty unusual for a chronograph...only other one i know is the seiko SNA411
-- Correction --
Apparently there are plenty out there....I guess it's pretty rare for lower-end chronos?
FredXFredex, just received the watch, they are screw down pushers.Maybe it helps with water resistance!! A lot of manufacturers instruct users not to use the chrono when in water. Not that I would take any watch over $500 into water anyway, nut some rich dudes might!
Drop - I'm interested in this watch. I need to know if the 1 year "manufacturer warranty" you're claiming on the site is enforceable/usable. Will this watch come with STAMPED warranty papers? If you are simply enclosing a blank warranty form, which is not AD stamped/signed/dated, I would question the manufacturer aspect of the warranty, and assume it's just the usual Drop 1 year warranty. Awaiting clarification before clicking Buy!
thriftyscroogeI had the same issue.
I contacted Drop who advised me that with any issues in the first year or after delivery to contact them in the first instance, then they would assist me from there; I wouldn't be left without warranty help. I have had no issues with drop so far and I am happy to take them at their word. As someone else has pointed out ,considering the price it is always a measured gamble with the warranty not being honoured by the manufacturer as it is in this case. (Raymond Weil in Australia will not have any part of the warranty if not sold through a Raymond Weil Authorised dealer; at all. I eventually received some rather short responses to my email enquiries with their brand management!!) Anyway, the watch arrived after 7 days from shipping! Really fast; but the courier was not DHL as advised: so my many attempts to track were a waste of time. It came with UPS!! Even then the only delivery advice I received was after the delivery informing me that delivery was the next day: well it is nearly Christmas after all. I suppose I am grateful it arrived at all, sometimes at this time of year packages have a knack of arriving many weeks later. At least the watch arrived in perfect condition, with full box equipment and yes a warranty card labelled TRISA !!. There is also the Swiss Made logo on the dial. So far it seems to work perfectly, all be the chrono buttons seem a to require a little force to activate, but do work perfectly; maybe it is the screw down locking device mechanism on the pushers;I haven't had these before;nor the leather band deployment clasp which i think will take some getting used too?
Anyway all in all very happy so far; except for delivery info; just lucky I happened to be at home I guess. It is a lot of watch for the money especially with the steel coloured tachy rim which looks ten times better than a ceramic one.
buzin24I'm pretty sure that's just because of the different angles leading to the rotor blocking some of the mechanisms shown in the other photo. The number on the rotor is missing though, which is strange
StevieZHUUYour comments are interesting,I did a little digging and found that one site said that they had a Sellita SW500 fitted! I know extremely little about the mechanisms and there differences but I have found this sellita movement on other chronograph watches. Could this be the explanation?
