The UTWS1 looks similar but it is built around a 3020 and no seperate amp section.
In terms of the indsides the most similar is the UTWS3 but even if the TRN made it the two are different. UTWS3 doesn't have the modular connectors, is a 3020 chip and a different power rating for the amp section. So really we need someone with both to see which sounds better.
While Kenfinite might be thinking of the 20, the 30 has been under $60 a bunch of times. Again, this site comes up small with pricing no better than aliexpress. And it's not like this is shipping to me in 2 day like Amazon. It's slow around the world shipping. This site went downhill and just plateaued. It's for people who have no clue what value is, and can't take a few minutes to research pricing.
That said, mine will be here in a week. For now I'll see how my old Triple-fi sound. My Zs10 Pro got delayed, sadly. Going to check out the Moondrop Starfield or Aria soon.
It's all timing with the price and combining coupons between the seller and ali. And LuckLZ is a fairly trusted store with many on thr forums and blog sites getting product for reviews from them.
I did get them the other day. Of course I can't find my triple-fi's,so can't test them yet. And other buds I have coming are 78 or the recessed 2 pin, so I just put in an order for the other two pin options.
I didn't look, but since this available in the US, I'd buy the other adapters when you buy the unit. No quick way to get them if you decide on buds with a different connector. Even Linsoul on Amazon is shipping the BT30 from China.
So the 78 and recessed 75 adapters came. Funny enough before the KZ ZS10Pro I ordered a month earlier. So I picked up the FiiO JadeAudio buds to try out. Liked them via cable with my FiiO M5. Just set them up with thr TRN. Definitely nicer than my KZ SKS and Buds Pro. I know it's just aptx on my Note 20, but acoustic instruments had nice detail, voices had some punch. Will be interesting to compare to the ZS10Pro when they finally arrive.
Will drag them to the gym next week for more use along with my trip to Vegas in a few weeks. Will be interesting to test sound quality without ANC vs the Buds Pro with.
Why is this drop $80 when the product is literally on Aliexpress for $30 or less at all times? I have a pair of these and they are solid, but I wouldn't have paid $80 for them.
Kenfinitethe 30s are listed at AliExpress at $79.80 The 20s are listed at $25.20. And if you are not getting from the official TRN store in AliExpress, you are running the risk of counterfeit items.
my BT30 came with charging issue that I've seen before. basically, you get a USB-C charge port but it's picky about what cables will work. so called legacy USB A to C cable like the dinky one the BT30 ships with will charge just fine, but a full fat type-c situation like a quality PD-rated phone charger or nice c-to-c data cable won't work at all. you ought to be able to charge a device with a type-c plug from a type-c port charger, duh.
the manufacturer messed up the internal circuit in the charge case. you need pulldown resistors on the CC lines of the device to negotiate charging properly. cracked open the charge case and the resistors are actually present on the board, but they're not wired correctly. if you have a good iron and a steady willingness to tinker, the board can be reworked and bodged to make it better behaved. and while you're in there already, it's trivial to increase the case battery capacity by swapping in a larger lipo cell.
if that last paragraph didn't tell you enough to attempt the fix, reply about it and I'll try to add some more detail/photos/relevant datasheets. shipping a broken type-C implementation is embarrassing. almost as bad as if it still came with micro-B 🙄
Asaadmine finally arrived today (1/22), sooo... a solid 2 months past the originally stated ship date. but they did arrive, and they're pretty good. lacks a little polish, compared to the somewhat similar/definitely better Fiio UTWS5 I bought in frustration waiting for these units. but hey, now I've got backup.
Bought mine from Amazon. Using them with Blon BL-01's and medium Dekoni Bulletz, they sound terrific. I can't really bob my head around without the TRN-BT30 flailing around unless I use them with KZ ZST Xs and large Dekoni Bulletz, but those hurt my ears after a while of prolonged use. Plus it's a little too pitchy.
