Low Distortion Amp

Headphone amplifiers come in a variety of circuit designs, each with its own advantages and drawbacks, but there’s one main determining faction: distortion level. Credited with having the lowest possible distortion, Output Transformer-Less (OTL) headphone amps cut out a key part of conventional amplifier design to eliminate a major cause of audible distortion. Without the Output Transformer, you get clearer sound, powered tubes, and overall better amplification. Arriving with an OTL design, the DarkVoice 335SE OTL Headphone Amp gives you a blank backdrop to properly broadcast your favorite jams.

Note: At check-out, you'll have your choice of a 110 V or 220~240 V power supply.

Design and Function

While you can’t very well drag your headphone rig into the middle of any empty NFL stadium or get air dropped onto a deserted island, music always sounds better surrounded by complete nothingness. With the DarkVoice, the deep blackness lets you notice every note like never before, adding a dimension of accuracy that’s usually cloaked in distortion. To fill out the space, the 335SE puts out warm mids (courtesy of the tubes), analytically detailed highs, and fully transparent bass. By pairing together tube warmth and OTL circuit design, this amplifier produces the cleanest warmth we’ve come across.

Durable Construction

As solid as a rock, every visible surface on the DarkVoice 336SE is either glass or anodized black metal. Rounded out with gold-plated RCA connectors, a metal name plate, a high quality potentiometer, and a power supply enclosure, this heavy duty piece of equipment- weighing in at 11 lbs- feels as solid as it sounds.

Packed With Power

If you’re still looking for more function, the DarkVoice 336SE OTL Headphone Amp is capable of powering headphones with up to 600 Ohms of magnetic resistance, as well as operating as a tube-based pre-amp for your speaker system. When you want great sound without going over budget, use the 336SE as a headphone amplifier and speaker pre-amp to hit two birds

Hi there, my system is computer based the dac i use is the Roksan K3, with the darkvoice. This is absolutely stunning, a massive improvement over the Schitt magni 3. What i love about the tube amp is the ability to change the sound signature to suit your tastes or the genre of music you are listening to. My favourite combinations are. The tung sol 7236 and sylviana gta chrome top, this combination in my set up is very linear, much more so than the magni 3. i use this when i want to listen to say the likes of katie melua who has a voice like glass so transparent and clear, its also a brilliant combination for orchestral music, other front tubes that pair well with the 7236 are the shuguan black treasure and the sylviana vt-231. I also was brought up on vinyl and have in the past had some fairly nice systems based around such turntables as the Linn Sondeck then later the Roksan Xerses, which i prefered over the sondeck and sugden amps. When i want that beautiful warm smoothness that i was used to on vinyl my choice of tubes is the Mullard 6080 and the Russian 6h8c from the late 5o's or early 60,s produced in the Foton plant. I know a lot of americans are not always keen on the Russian tube but these pair remarkably well with the 6080 family but with especially with the mullard which is my favourite from the ones i own. https://hifipig.com/roksan-k3-digital-to-analogue-converter/ This is one of the reviews of the k3 , This is the link to where i bought mine,https://www.audiovisualonline.co.uk/media/roksan/k3/dac/roksan_k3_dac_small_1-large.jpg , The reason for the big price drop, that not long after the launch of the dac Roksan was taken over by i think monitor audio, who decided a full size dac didn't sit well in the lineup that also inluded a cd player with built in dac, so it was dropped and audio visual purchase all remaing stock , which i am personally grateful for, because you would be hard pushed to buy a better dac at that price.
